Taking on the Spartan Race to raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission

On February 25th, several members of the Asta team are participating in the Spartan Race in Gippsland Victoria to raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission.

The Spartan Race is a test of strength (Both physical and mental) and endurance with obstacles including weightlifting, rope climbing, commando crawling and more over 5km.

The team have been busy training over the last few months and are looking forward to giving the race all they’ve got!

“We have a great team and rely on each other every day. I'm excited to prove that's the same outside in the cold wet mud. Also, I haven't exercised for a long time, I need to know I won't die if I go back to the gym,” says John, one of Asta’s Spartan Racers.

“It’s going to be tough, but I know we’ll work together as One Team like we always do to make it through. I need more practice on the rope climb though…” says Renee, another of Asta’s Spartan Racers.

Asta’s participation in the race is a symbol of our partnership with Sacred Heart Mission, to make a positive difference in our community through raising funds and awareness.

At Asta, we hope to not just be a Managed Services and Software Development provider, but also connect different communities such as not-for-profits and corporates, through technology and education.

Sacred Heart Mission is one such community where education goes both ways and is an important part of what Sacred Heart Mission do. They provide insights into the lives of those they help and break down the stereotypes and biases of homelessness to the wider community.

Their aim is to provide support, care, and hope to those in need, through a range of services such as housing, health care, and food, to make a sustainable difference in people’s lives.

The Spartan Race serves as a platform to raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause and demonstrates the power of teamwork and collaboration.
